On a personal note, I have to say that the Firefox redesign reminds me of Google’s Chrome logo revamp from 2011. Check out the image below to see how the Firefox logo evolved over time. He explained that his work was “a simplification in form and function”. However, it also scales quite nicely for use in retina displays, and (unlike previous versions) can be accurately recreated in SVG so it’s more ‘of the Web’.” The one to come up with the new Firefox logo and icon is long time Mozilla visual designer, Sean Martell. “Although we think it looks great at any size, it’s been optimized to be crisper and cleaner on small screens and lower resolution devices. “Unlike previous versions, the updated logo was created specifically with mobile in mind,” explained Mozilla’s John Slater. Without changing the basic concept, the company modernized the logo so it can better “reflect Firefox’s role in the ever-changing Web of 2013 and beyond.” Firefox Logo Evolution Infographic To reflect the fact that the Firefox browser has evolved considerably over the years, Mozilla decided to visually refresh the Firefox logo and product icon.
